In the Deep End - to go High Up

Sept 2023

Soon I will be embarking on a trip of a lifetime. 15 days of hiking in the Himalayas. Traversing little mountain villages stitched together by hanging bridges. By-the-foot will be elevation gain (nice pun!) for which I prepare and train. With me will be a friend and new ones we will make. The challenge is real, there is nothing to fake. The journey  will be a joyous grind to 18000 ft plus but that's when I go to the deep end so the mind is in no fuss. Click here for my itinerary and frequent updates

Dedication of efforts: to those who fight/fought battles with Cancer, Tumors, Auto-immune diseases, deal with the loss of a loved one (a child), anyone in pain. Also, to honor their families who exhibit selfness empathy in support of the real courageous fighters.

I am carrying prayer flags with name. Send me a message with names of your loved one/s you would like me to carry with me

Mt Everest as the peak is known commonly, locals call her Chomolungma, Sagarmaata. I look forward to being at her Base Camp in awe, admiring her might.

A few fun facts about Mt Everest                                                                         Initially named Peak XV when British surveyors first found and measured the peak. The Tibetans have always known of this mountain and worshipped her as Chomolungma, the Goddess Mother of the World. The Nepalese call her Sagarmaata - The Mother of the World. In 1865 the Royal Geographical Society dubbed the peak Mt. Everest in honor of Sir George Everest, the surveyor General of India. It is unknown if George Everest ever got a glimpse of the peak that bears his name. He died in 1866.
